Seems no one has posted in the music thread in a while.

I wanted to point out a musical similarity I recently heard between Chrono Cross and Yu-Gi-Oh!; it seems part of the Chronopolis tune is almost directly copied into part of Marik's theme! Take a listen.

Chronopolis:

Marik's theme: (start at 4:56)

Also, I now have my own copy of Kato and Mitsuda's "kiRite" (both the book and CD!), and it only makes me appreciate Mitsuda's music even more. If you haven't listened to it yet, I highly recommend you do so.

Mainly 'indie' music, like The Wrens, Spoon, Built to Spill etc. Big fan of Radiohead, whatever they are. Also into jazz (Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, etc.), classical Romantic music (Tchaicovsky, Rachmanimoff, etc.), electronica (Aphex Twin, 808 State, etc.), and hip-hop (Nas, Jay-Z, Wu-Tang Clan, etc.). So pretty much everything: http://last.fm/user/riffrafi/charts

I feel that good music has similar qualities, more so than songs of the same genre do. For me, there's more similar between Nas's N.Y. State of Mind and Radiohead's Lucky than there is between Nas's N.Y. State of Mind and 50 Cent's *anything*.

Jut say whatever music you've got on at the moment, send a video link if you got one.

DragonForce- Black Winter Night

and going on to

DragonForce- Starfire

Yeah, the first thread I edit in months would have to be someone making a new Music thread, in all caps, completely ignoring the music thread on the second page that says not to just make a list (that part which WAS in all caps)...lol

Yay.  That's my favourite Beatles song.

Crystal Castles - "Vanished".  The video is kind of stupid, but I love the song.
White Lies - "E.S.T.".  Another dumb video, but meh.

Been on a Smiths kick lately. Johnny Marr's guitar is beautiful, captivating, and has a clarity and depth I wish I could achieve with my own gear.

Particularly 2:04 - 2:17 ish. I could go either way for Morrissey, but that guitar

Mr. B, good to see some Smiths love! One of my favorite songs of all time is "William, It Was Really Nothing"... Much love to Marr and the boys.

Did you listen to the Modest Mouse album with Johnny Marr? It was "We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank". It was purdy to meh ears.

More DragonForce, but for while I'm playing Soul Calibur. It makes everything umpteen times more fun, especially when the battle's a win that you really had to work for.

Bah. Doublepost crit for 50,000-plus damage. But, at least it's something amazing; seriousy, they should either play this or Yakety Sax on the Suicide Hotline. One of the happiest songs that this world has ever come to know.

"Walk on Water"

I just love, love, love this remix. Plenty up high tempo electric tunes to jam to, with just enough of a jazzy undertone to be perfect. Nostalgia to boot, too! The chord progression at 0:54 (and reversed at subsequent times) is beautiful. I love this song.
