Here it is This is just a teaser, it is in no way a final version.
I haven't figured out what kind of voice enhancements to do for frog yet, and the recording is simple.

The Scene Between Frog & Magus

Enjoy~!

Hah, how fun. If I ever get to buying that new mic, I'm surely going to re-record my dialog for ya.

Quick question, what effects did you use for Magus's voice: pitch change and/or tempo change? Or something completely different?

That was...really cool! Magus sounded a little bland in some parts, but I guess you wanted it to come across that he was completely not taking Frog seriously? Because it worked.

The only thing I have always thought when I played this scene in-game is that his reaction to the Masamune is genuinely surprised. Maybe disguised a little, but in his head he's going "OH WHAT THE? Why does he have the Masamune?!" before going, "Whaever, he's going down anyway."

Just my impression.

I just saw/heard this, and it's got a lot of merit -- kudos to the voice actors and the sound processing.

The voice acting, no doubt, needs a little improvement (and that's the most important part). But besides that, I like the effects and the whole of trailer. Nice job!  :D

Mav may have chosen a style. Glenn speaks in rage or something when speaking to Magus, so emphasize that a little but not too much. Feel the hatred for Magus!

I liked Magus's voice though, but, like I said before, needs a little improvement. But it all works out. I'm lookin forward to yer series!

Yeah, I really kinda rushed through what I was doing--I don't like how it turned out. And for some reason, I couldn't get my voice sounding how I wanted, which resulted in a loss of inflection as well.

Z, lay off the pitch/ tempo change! More raspy! More Batmanish! When I hear Magus' voice, all I can think is "OBEY MEEEEEEE!"

And the delay is a bit too heavy, you should mix it in dryer. Or use a very light reverb. A little bit of echo goes a much longer way than you think. It didn't sound like they were in a castle, it sounded like they were in a time warp.

Last complaint. Masamun-ay?

Ahhwwww.

Overall, I rather enjoyed it. I just think you need some fine tuning (pronunciations aside).

PS. Mav - you said you didn't like the way you did it. I recommend recording several takes, each slightly differently, and giving Z all of them.. It'll give him more directorial leeway and if you do one really well in the beginning and then slip up but have a decent second or third take, he can cut and paste until he's got the right feel for it. You'd probably happier with thte finished product.

I liked the way it was edited to "change" the shots through close-ups and what not, but I thought some of the dialogue was a little off kilter.  It was particularly slow (literally - the words themselves were pronounced very slowly).  but overall i look forward to what you guys have next!

Thanks for all the feedbacks. Just know that this is a W.I.P. hence, these are DEMO scenes to get all the kinks out. I'm constantly working on Magus's voice, I originally used -6 pitch 3 times. As for the 'slowness' --fixing that aswell. I've done ALOT since I made this scene a few days ago.

It's like: Change pitch, increase speed (to compensate), change pitch (do this until it's faster and deeper)
Use the Change Pitch (without changing tempo)

Z, lay off the pitch/ tempo change! More raspy! More Batmanish! When I hear Magus' voice, all I can think is "OBEY MEEEEEEE!"

And the delay is a bit too heavy, you should mix it in dryer. Or use a very light reverb. A little bit of echo goes a much longer way than you think. It didn't sound like they were in a castle, it sounded like they were in a time warp.

More Batmanish? Oh, hell. Why didn't I think of that? I'll give it a try tonight.

The actual episodes themselves will be polished beyond this level (I'm going to use Adobe After Affects - that is if I ever get the DVD from my sister). Those of you that know me by now know that my work is exponential, (eg. not much in the start, but explosive by the end!) So this is just the beginning.

Also, I really wanted to do a scene with Lavos Core:

The Ethos of Lavos

This is not the final voice mix for it, just another experiment.

Lavos sounds pretty damn good--the main thing is making sure that you can still recognize all the words after the effect, without the captions.

As do I; by no means should the captions be removed. I just think that the voice needs to be tweaked, so that what he says is more discernible, had there been no captions.

It looks like Z has got a pretty good handle on effects--mayhaps a Robo video is around the corner?

I'm taking out the textboxes and putting in the captions. This is for clarification (and for those that can't understand English, but can read it) as well as a few other reasons such as not having a big block of text in the way.

Sure, why not? I'll probably do that tonight. Seems like fun.  :)

Also, I *promise* to start releasing the script for each chapter soon. The reason I've been waiting is we need a few more characters. Marle most importantly. Hopefully, the trailers attract some attention toward this project so we can get more people in.
