That's one helluva teaser...definitely has music reminiscent of the old days, but aside from that, I have no idea what this is for. The art on the page kinda reminds me of Legend of Mana...

According to gamefront.de, Kobayashi Tomomi, designer of the romancing saga games, stated on his blog, that he is working with Squeenix again.

Kobayashi schreibt, dass er gerade mit Square Enix zusammenarbeitet und Illustrationen an den Publisher geliefert hat. Es ist das erste Mal seit zehn Jahren, dass er mit Square Enix wieder arbeiten würde.

Kobayashi war verantwortlich für alle Charakter-Illustrationen der SaGa-Serie, so dass vielleicht ein Romancing Saga 4 in Arbeit ist.

Yeah, my guess would be either Mana or Saga related.  The art looks more in tune with the Mana series, but the 4 could easily be Saga 4...

New Romancing SaGa planned? Tomomi Kobayashi works for Square Enix starting 26.06.09 - The signs consolidate themselves for the fact that Square Enix is possibly working on Romancing SaGa 4 . After the today's message countdown of the website, which refers to such a development, the draughtsman Tomomi Kobayashi also announces himself in his own words to his blog. Kobayashi writes that he co-operates straight with Square Enix and supplied illustrations to the publisher. It is the first time for ten years that he would work with Square Enix. Kobayashi was responsible for all character illustrations of the SaGa series, so perhaps a Romancing Saga 4 is in work.

BTW, it was also said that "4" may refer to "光の４戦士 (Hikari no 4 Senshi / 4 Warriors of Light)", a trademark that SE registered this year.

Does the kid look familiar to anyone? His face looks kinda like the kid from FFTA. Although "4 Warriors of Light" really reminds me of Final Fantasy I...and with the pseudo-oldschool music, perhaps that's the image they're trying to evoke?
