Do you dream of the series?
« on: July 25, 2009, 10:58:32 pm »
I tend too and it's just like a fan made world of sorts. It usually has the CT cast in this new world or map and it's quite fascinating on how it looks.

I did have one dream about Chrono Trigger way back in 1996. The dream involved modding and creating a version of Chrono Trigger where Flea was the main character and wielded a katana. Wild.

You dreamed about modding Chrono Trigger back in 1996? Wow...there's another addition to the "You Might Be a Hacker If..." list.

I don't dream about the Chrono series, to my knowledge, but if I did it would probably be a crossover with this.

All the time, and in fact I write down and draw my dreams!
I'm gonna have to try showing the designs. It's always hard to do though, cause I'm only a quarter awake, even I have trouble deciphering my own hand writing later on thinking "Is that an M or an N? AGH!"
They always seem to be like some sort of adventure. Most recent Chrono related dream was me and some friends that just happened to be friends in my dream, not even real people as far as I'm concerned; working in a large super market. In the back storage area me and one guy went in. Loooooooooooooooong stairway, a floor for every letter of the alphabet.
We go down it and along the way we're crossing paths with Link, Spiderman, Robo(Chrono!), & the Ghostbusters :| . We reached floor O, and entered a door to meet Pacman, Mario, and Frog and Marle. They also happened to have a massive army made up of characters from Chrono and Mario. I had become Sonic and my friend had become Crono. We'd leave and try to convince everyone else this game world exists. Like in real life, we'd proceed to be called crazy. He goes back while I'm explaining. Hours later (Yes, my dream had me working a job for hours, incredibly suck)my friend returns with troubling news of war. We head down and we find Queen Larsa(the hardest video game boss ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQZuidKexBQ), Dr. Robotnik, and an army of Heartless attacking the game world. We all help to fight them back. The action I'd have to draw out for you, I still vividly remember it, for example me/Sonic running through the mountains, arms sticking out breaking them apart as I watched Crono in the distance stabbing one while surrounded proceeding to use Confuse but rather than slash inward at only one opponent he faced outside his circle slashing all. Afterward when it looked like the game characters could handle things we headed out, only to find along the way all those we encountered on the staircase were possesed by these blue flame spirits and were trying to kill us. So we had to avoid all the people at the begining of this paragraph(sadly that does include Robo). We get back to the door that leads out only to find we'll just fall back to the game world from I'd estimate around 1 mil. feet and kill ourselves. No escape.

At least i assume that, with everyone attacking us my dream's eyesight wouldn't let me keep track fo the doors! For all I know we made a wrong turn was all! Which could be changed by heading up more stairs(it did feel little shorter this time than before)!

That's my most recent, not even the best stuff I've had! I'm saving up my dreams thinking maybe turn it into a story or a game.

Sometimes. But rarely. Since I have somewhat mastered the art of Lucid Dreaming, it is fun to mess with a good Chrono Trigger dream every now and then and make it into an amazing adventure. Kind of how I get my ideas for the Re-Temporal Odyssey.

Wait, seriously?! How do you master Lucid Dreaming? I've been trying that for ages now! the things I could do if I had control of my dreams...

Aren't you supposed to somehow "spin" within the dream or something? I read about that once but never really made sense of it. Truly an esoteric art form.

It is very very very very hard. First, you must be the kind of person to be able to control your state of mind. Kind of like meditating. It makes it much easier. Once in the dream, if one concentrates enough or realizes it is a dream, one is able to enter a sort of subconsciousness that delves beyond the realm of the subconscious. Essentially, you wake up without really waking up. Also, it is much easier to enter the state of lucid dreaming during the hours before falling asleep and early just before waking up.

It is very similar to meditation, and you can find wonderful things in your mind if you are in the state of lucid dreaming. Wonderful things.

I've tried those, and I'm fully aware I'm inthe dream but I don't have control still. At least not most of the time. And more often than not when I do no one actually pays any attention to me.
Guess I'm not meant for it... :(
But at least my dreams always seem to be when I have them exciting adventures that seem almost like my brain is telling me "Hey! this ought to be a game! you know, maybe you should work around this?! Wake up stupid and write it down!" :D

I would like to too. But considering how that always that I dream I'm never aware of it, despite that I should know that what happens in it wouldn't happen in real life, I never realize until I woke up.

On the few occasions I've had lucid dreams it's usually when I'm so close to sleeping (as in, right before falling asleep) that it's as if I'm not quite asleep yet, but already dreaming. Still though, I doubt I'm the kind to master something so wonderful. Kudos to you, Temporal Knight.

But no, I haven't had any Chrono-related dreams. Well, I had a dream that I was watching a Crimson Echoes video on Youtube, but that's probably because I tended to wake up, read the Compendium update, and go straight to watching 'em.

Ahh, lucid dreaming. Good times, good times. 8) Though I haven't had one for a while, I have had plenty to be able to control everything except what seem to be other characters thoughts and fellings. Actions are easy to control, but thoughts and fellings, they're just too hard for me. I think the funniest way I've ever had a lucid dream was when I went to bed actually thinking about what I WANT to dream about. Hehe.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure I've never had a dream about CT. If I did, it was only for a breif moment.

Yeah, I usually dream about things that could really happen, but have some impossible twist like I'm in my house, cleanin my kitchen, but it's in a volcano.

I may have dreamt about the Chrono series but I highly doubt it. And lucid dreaming is VERY hard to achieve.
