Anyone Interested in a Compendium Card Group?

Z and me had an idea of setting up regular Mario Kart 64 netplay games. It's pretty easy to set up and run via emulator, and of course we wouldn't be restricted to just Mario Kart. If enough people are interested, maybe we should give it a shot.

Hmm that may work, but I need to do some jurryrigging to see if my MAME Cabinet would run it (probably will) well. But in that same line of thought what other options do we have? Can GB/GBA we use emulators with some net play? Do DS emulators links to real DS'? ETC.

There's a version of VisualBoy Advance that has Netplay, dunno how it well it runs, annnd I think there's a way to use Hamachi to connect DS emulators to the wi-fi network, but I couldn't find instructions anywhere.

it sounds like a good idea, but notoriously my laptop doesnt work well with emulators and internet at the same time. its hard to play pokemon rom hacks when browsing here because the internet dies.

I remember finding this site-- http://www.playok.com/ --a while back when we began looking for new games. It's very easy to set up an account, and, as you can see, holds quite a few online games.

Sorry I haven't been participating the last few Saturday nights (or in the Compendium, actually). I've been very busy.

Good to see you hanging in there, Kodokami.  I remember well the evening when you found that site.  All of our scouring the internet for decent multiplayer games was so frustrating. 

One games site which looked promising that night, and for which I've found decent reviews, is Spogg.  They have a decent Boggle variant, and an intriguing magnetic poetry game, which I'd love to try some time. 

Of course, there is always Gunbound for those who do not mind downloading a 300 Mb behemoth of an installer.  I've been considering giving that game another go for a while now.

same time, different game? or should we alter the time as well? sometimes its hard for me to stay up to 11pm, other times i cant even sleep.

I'm not sure as to what to do about times and such.  I think that it will likely be difficult to arrange any regular events until after the holiday is wrapped up for everybody here.  Also, more time for brainstorming probably couldn't hurt. 

I think it would be great if a new virtual haunt were to emerge here.  I thought that the regular card games were good times to check in with everybody if nothing else, and they usually managed to pick me up pretty well.  Getting together is great, but if we're going to do it we may as well make sure we've got a winning location to meet up.

So, any other ideas?  Anybody?

i go for the connecting as well, but not many people go to the card games anymore. i think, though, that we should wait a while until the holiday is over, then resume meetings at our new haunt.
