@utunnels:  I'd like to know how you guys pronounced it. For Saj's spelling, when I used to mispell it accidentally I pronounced it "Sai-Juhn-Taa", as in "Sai" for dagger or "Saint Sai Baba", and "Janta" for "Public". Now that I've kept in mind to correct myself, I pronounce her "Saa-Jay-n-taa". I hope the pronounciation's right, Saj, but correct me if I'm wrong.

@Saj: XDDD I really wish we had a Tulio in Chrono Cross.

I pronounce your name phonetically, so tu-shan-tin.

You were actually pronouncing it more correctly when you were misspelling it, ironically enough!  =)  It's actually Sah-Jan-Ta, with the j having more of a soft z sound at the end of it...if that makes sense.  Kind of like the j in the way Westerners pronounce "Taj Mahal".  So Sah-Jzan-Ta.

Which doesn't make sense if you consider the spelling, since there's that "i" in there, so my pronunciation of the word is seriously dumb and probably should be something more similar to the way you say it.  Sajainta is a character from a series of stories I started writing when I was around eight, and I've always pronounced her name that way.  So let's just assume that in Sajainta's world, words aren't always phonetic.  Kind of like English.  XDXD

That should have been Wazuki's name xD

 Mi-gel (hard g) or sometimes Mi-gwell (also hard g).

Wait, if that's a hard g, how is a soft g ? :(

A soft g sounds like a j.  George and ginger are examples of soft gs.

I've actually been pronouncing it right?

Wow!  I'm impressed.  :D

xD I guessed that, but the pronunciation is close. The 'a' isn't pronounced in the usual western style, like in Gary, but actually pronounced like the second 'a' in Aura, or Aurora, or even Plasma. It's basically Tu-Shaan-Tin.

But that's probably because my name was initially written in Hindi. (Or maybe in Bengali. Or Sindhi... ah crap, I forgot)

That reminds me; when you write in Hindi, unlike in English, the letters follow exactly as they are pronounced, so there's really no room for mispronunciation. For instance:

Sajainta (sa-jan-ta) - सजन्ता
Miguel (mi-gel with Hard G) - मिगैल
Serge (suhr-j) - सर्ज

Even though neither Japanese nor Hindi have equivalents for 'z' (sucks, I know), translating something in Hindi should be pretty easy. Of course, that still doesn't mean kids would play Chrono Cross in Hindi. LOL

EDIT: I kinda liked Licawolf's idea though. What if Wazuki was Tulio and Serge was the horse (okay, maybe not)? They'd strand on Chronopolis the same way Miguel and Tulio stranded on Eldorado. Then they'd break out on a song:

Changing legend into fact
We shall ride into history
Turning myth into truth
We shall surely gaze
On the sweet unfolding
Of an antique mystery
All will be revealed
On the trail we blaze

The Road to El Nido   (well, The Road to Chronopolis, actually... but El Nido sounds more like El Dorado, so...)

Serge was the horse (okay, maybe not)

This gave me the hilarious mental image of Serge as a cartoon horse

That's how I pronounce it, actually.  Tu-Shaan-Tin.  Living overseas got rid of that pesky harsh "a".  I can't form my mouth to use a harsh "a" anymore.  It sounds wrong and forced.  I have a weird accent.

I pronounce Gary with a soft "a" too, because that's how it's said in Scotland.  Gah-ry.

I'm Mah-Gus all the way. Everyone I know in person (who knows what CT is) says it the same. I could care less if people say it differently. Same with Ayla, Marle

What bugs the hell out of me is the K sound that gets shoved into Schala's name. Ugh. And anything where Lucca is not "Luke, uh".

I pronounce Serge Surge. I don't have a problem with other pronunciations but I don't understand why people call him Sergio. That's not his name. IRL I have a friend named Jim. Not James. Jim. Says it on his birth certificate, license, etc. But people think they're clever and try to come up with nicknames and "James" inevitably gets thrown in there. He's never been James. Just like Serge has never been Sergio.
