Lufia II confirmed for DS remake

Also known as "Estpolis: The Land Cursed by Gods", Lufia II, like FFIII/IV, is confirmed to be remade for the Nintendo DS with full 3D graphics and voice acting, being developed by the original team and Square Enix. The Japan release date is set for February 25!

I wonder why they skipped Lufia I... right, II is a prequel. At least, that's what I think about why.

Anyway, that's awesome. Though I wonder why the genre-change.

Oh, a "reimagining"! This could be exciting. Thanks for finding this out, I've been wondering what's up.

Videogame series, like movie series, are sometimes ripe for reboots. The question is, how will Square Enix treat this near-classic? And will the fans think it's for better or worse?

Unfortunately I hear they have brought Gore Verbinski in to write the expanded story elements, so...

Meh, looks like it's going to have a Star-Ocean-ified realtime battle system. Darn, it's like we're living in the waning age of turn based combat.

This looks cool. I just have one question. How would one pronounce Estpolis? I feel like there should be a vowel between the t and the p.

I'd imagine it is pronounced "est" (as in the Latin and German verb) and "polis."
