I liked Kingdom hearts, maybe even my favorite PS2 game. Who here would like to see parts of the Chrono world in Kingdom Hearts 2? I think it could work because when Final Fantasy Chronicles was released (the worst port ever) I always though that Square had made CT an "honorary" Final Fantasy game. It was called Final Fantasy Chronicles (emphasis on the “es”) and not Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger. Maybe that’s looking into it too much though. Discuss.

Disney is almost as evil as AOL Time Warner, which is just a hop 'n' a skip to the land of Microsoft...If not for the fact that Disney is run by a bunch of filthy chimos, I wouldn't like them at all :P

Haven't played KH at all. I would rather the CT crew not be in it and that SE actually work on another Chrono title seperately...

That and their shamless milking of FF7. I sorta started hating them when their main characters got more and more limp wristed and fabulous..

Meh, I just see them going in new directions and expanding their newfound, merged horizons.

I mean, now they're doing a movie (AC) with a concept that's the polar opposite of Spirits Within, by actually basing it around one of their games. So they chose to use their most popular game...Makes sense to me (even though I didn't like FFVII).

Same thing with going in the direction of a cell phone game (BC) and a new handheld (PSP) game (CC)...

And, funnily enough (being anti-FFVII as I am), I look forward to their venture into the Action shoot 'em up relm with the only character I actually liked from FFVII, Vincent Valentine (DC)...

Not to mention the C&Ds were completely justified and they give hope that they still know their series exists...and are willing to defend that series...

That’s more of an opinion really. It's not any different from remixing or fan fiction. The only solid reason people give me about that nonsense is that it was not up to the creative people, lawyers and other business types made the decision. My rebuttal is always "then they have become something I don't like".

Please, to compare a complete remake of a game to fanfiction or remixes is ludicrous...

For one, most remixes are just that, remixes, they aren't trying to remake the compositions...and, if nothing else, that's just the musical side...

As for fanfics...they're nothing but jibberish mostly, I personally think they should shut down the Novelization project...But most of it isn't a retelling of Chrono Trigger...Besides that, trying to shut down fanfics would be like trying to shut down people's blogs...

A game remake encompasses music and scripting violations. It's not the same when compared to those entities seperately, no.

Eh, I still disagree with the C&D letters, but at least we got some good art and music out of it.  Not only that, if they intend to make a new Chrono game, so much the better.

As for them milking Final Fantasy VII, if it's good I'll buy it.  I happen to like FF7 quite a lot -- which almost pains me, because it's probably the cause of Chrono being neglected.

Well, from what I can tell, it is mostly a retelling. But that aside, fanfiction does have its purpose, in some regards. I suppose most fanfiction is jibberish, but at least it gives aspiring writers a chance to practice the craft of writing. I shudder to think at how much editing I would be doing, and how disheartened I would be, if I had started my story I am writing now before testing myself and practising through Twilight of Fate.

And as far as the novelization project goes... well, that's no different than PJ making Lord of the Rings, isn't it? And that went over pretty well. You might say that he actually had the rights to do it, but though he technically did, realistically, no: Tolkien sold the movie rights to pay some bills, and though he would perhaps have liked to see the screen adaption, his son Christopher was adamantly against them. Moreover, many of the changes and the like were PJs, and weren't quite on with what Tolkien would have liked (the Elves were a little too ethereal, perhaps; and Legolas should have been drunk LONG before Gimli, and so on.) So just because they aren't the original creators of something doesn't mean that filmakers/novelizers cannot do it well.

Oh, lordy no! Of course not! I wasn't intentionally bashing every fanfic (of course not, I've made my own, right?). I was generalizing to make a point. Although, I think it's basically true of most of it (due to the sheer numbers). I mean, seriously, shutting down everyone that's made a fanfic of JUST Chrono Trigger would be like shutting down everyone who's ever mentioned Chrono Trigger in one of their Blogs or something...It's not plausible or realistic...

Personally, I liked the LotR movies better than the books (they were too long and drawn out for my liking). But I still think The Hobbit wins out over all of it, movie and book LotR.

Plus, I think it's rediculous to bash a game (talking about the FFVII stuff now) you haven't even played based on the sheer fact that it's a sequal to another game that you like...
