I know a custom Luthier that lived near me back when I still lived in Missouri. His name is Bill Conklin, I prefer to call him god. just look up conklin guitars for the site. the angled frets are so the highest string has a shorter length by a couple inches, this makes it to where the string isn't as tense, thus reducing the chance of it snapping/breaking. it helps a lot. not to mention it seems to follow the natural pattern of your fingers when you play real fast or do chords.
