I've seen your video as you posted in another thread, and already replied to it. No, the battle system will not change because the game's engine is RPG Maker 2003, which is not the same as the RD remake's engine (RPG Maker XP), and our team is not the same as the RD remake team.
We are quite happy with how Shift is turning out. We are not changing engines mid-game. Maybe on a future release. Maybe we'll use the Source or Unreal engine when we have 10 years to work on a game. But all that's definite is we're using RPG Maker 2003 for Shift and while I've made the battles in the demo as close as they can be to those in Chrono Trigger (each character has individual animations for every condition and action, the enemies you fight are the same ones you see on screen before the battle, the same amount you see before battle, and the background is the same location where the battle initiates. That's about as much as we can do, beyond that, we're treating it as it's own game. Not a remake or hack of Chrono Trigger, but like Chrono Cross and Radical Dreamers, something new. I'm sorry if you don't like it.
