I have no idea if Square Enix, Mitsuda or anyone authorized this, but if not, this is the kind of things their legal department should be dealing with instead of… well, everybody knows.

My bet is, Wiz licensed the music through a service like EasySongLicensing.com. *Sigh*, it's weird how musical intellectual property is treated so differently and cleanly compared to other forms of IP. The rules governing it (in the US at least) are from an entirely different era.

The mixtape that this particular track belongs to does lots of sampling from other artists. It's extremely common in rap production.

Understand that Wiz whateverthehell probably had nothing to do with the actual selection of these samples; most mainstream rap artists have entire armies of producers that do all the musical and technical stuff for them.

*Sigh*… I know I’m exaggerating with my reactions and that in a certain context the whole thing can be funny, but I will always know that something inside of me died when I watched that video…At least I hope that the actual creators had received credit for their work…
