Help with Chrono Cross´s final boss

Yeah, it Is my first time playing CC xD My party es Serge-Kid-Glenn. My strategy is the following:

1-Raise everyone stamina to Lv.7 by doing weak attacks
2-Defend until the enemy makes its attack
3-Use the correct combination of elements

In the third step, I finish doing the black element attack with Kid and the enemy makes a black color attack cancelling my "superb" strategy. I proved to use the blue element and defend, hoping the enemy would do the black color atack but it used a white color element >___< Any solution?

If I'm not mistaken, at a certain point it lays out part of the combination for you, and you just whack on it for awhile. At a certain point it'll cast a yellow element, and as soon as it does, you start your combo again, and you'll have that one extra step to be able to put in.

Just my two cents: give every character EVERY element. Thing is, TD mostly uses elements which are of the opposite colors to your character's innate. You could take control of this. Dang, it's been so long since I played CC...
