I've been with more girls that were totally shaved than those that did none at all.  Most common is some shaving, or what I refer to as "the landing strip"

All that need really needs to be done, on either side, is trim it.  Shaving is not necessary and a horrible burden for anyone. In-grown hairs and the itchiness is just vicious.

Some inevitably get in your mouth. And it is nasty. Plus, then you have to stop to get the hair out of your mouth, which sucks for the girl because unless you are horrible at it she more than likely doesn't want you to stop at all. So everybody wins.

I'm not totally okay with twenty-somethings discussing these things alongside teenagers -- it reminds me of schoolyard corruption. But on the other hand, it's honest discussion. Hrm.

Well, since I'm here, might as well drop my two cents. Muslims of all genders have been shaving "there" for centuries, and I wonder if westerners didn't pick up the custom from them or something. For gentlemen at least, the prickliness goes away after a month or so of keeping true to the custom. I happen to view it as a shedding of one's animal past and bringing one's body closer to angelic perfection.

True -- if it isn't reciprocal, it is sexist, but you pointed that out before me and I totally agree. Whatever floats one's boat is fine as far as I'm concerned; having the choice to shave or not to shave is all about control over one's body image, which I'm for.
