I have a question, does anyone have the typeface aka font called "Serif Gothic Heavy"? It's the typeface used for Chrono Trigger and I am on the hunt for it for artistic purposes... Please let me know ^.^

I'm surprised we don't have this. I'll move this thread to the Great To-Do List and give it a bounty of 1000 points per font per game (I'm sure there are different fonts for CT's actual logo vs. dialogue, Cross's stuff, etc.).

Yeah I was shocked too. I know the Typeface only because I learned about it in college and then later saw it on an fan-project logo and inquired to the designer. So hopefully it turns up

"Serif Gothic Heavy" is obtainable, but not (legally) for free, from the looks of it: http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/adobe/itc-serif-gothic/heavy/. It's also known as "ITC Serif Gothic Black", dates from 1974, and was created by Adobe and ITC (which means that it may be packaged with some Adobe software--Photoshop, InDesign, or the Creative Suite).

I have the rest of the Font family if needed(light, extra bold, black...), but as alfadorredux said, it's not supposed to be a free font, I got it as an illegal download, not sure if it's allowed to be posted here...

I didn't know Chrono's logo Typography was that old, for some reason I always assumed it was made especially for the game.

That's funny because I had always known it was similar to one, but I figured they'd have had to modify it somewhat so they could have their own version of it...Anyone got side-by-sides for comparison? lol

Actually the CT dialogue font is identical to the Chicago font in Mac OS 9 and older.

Alright, well this knowledge bomb makes me want to up the ante Compendium-style...what do we know about the Japanese font choices?
