What an interesting monster, the Mandora Monster.

A green, vine-like creature with a humanoid operator in place of its head.

What to make of it, indeed...  :?

It is quite unique, isn't it? I wonder if it was based on something (aside from the obvious Mandrake reference in the name), I don't think I have seen anything quite like it. The art direction of RD did a good job creating a really disturbing and alien creature. Oh, how I would have loved to see it actually sprited or modeled in 3D.

...In the actual game, the Mandora is not quite as greenish (more like greyish), I changed the colors a little to make it fit my color scheme.

Excellent detail on the monster, especially the arms and the vinelike musculature.  After looking over everything you have on displayed on deviantart, I'd say this is among your best work.

Thank you  :) Truth is, when I was sketching this picture, I thought I was going to finish it with inks, which it's the reason I allowed myself a greater level of detail than I usually do. Later I decided to retrace everything with vectors instead, despite the fact that it was a little extra work, I'm glad to hear the effort shows. I'll try to keep the quality
