Quick question about the OST
« on: April 07, 2011, 02:15:36 pm »
Quick question: is there any difference between the SNES version and the DS version of Chrono Trigger in the name of the themes? I have done some research but I cannot find the answer -.-

In short, no. No track names are significantly different. There seem to be some spelling/grammar adjustments, not much else.

SNES OST: http://vgmdb.net/album/18
NDS OST: http://vgmdb.net/album/13754

If you're referring to the track names given in the in-game Sound Test on the DS version of Chrono Trigger, yes, Tom Slattery translated a few track names differently than the commonly held translations. The most significant of these that I can recall is the changing of the end credits track, "To Faraway Times", to "Outskirts of Time".

Check the discussion thread for the album:

To clarify, the English translations I put up are from the English game's Music box feature.

So the tracklist at that link is the one used in-game.
