I can't get New Game + :-(

I beat Chrono Trigger the usual way a lot of times, through the black omen, the Epoch, the bucket. I'm playing on a ROM but whenever I beat it, it still doesn't give me a New Game + option at the beginning! I have save files from save points in the game, I watched the whole credit sequence with Crono and Marle on the balloons....but New Game + still won't work!

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I've heard of that problem before.  Wait for the final The End screen and then hit Reset, and it should be there.  If you loaded a save state after the ending instead of resetting, that was the problem.

I did all that....I waited until you see the world and it says "The End", i pressed the RESET ROM option but it still didn't work! Damnit!

2) I have a PS2 but I can't find the CT psx version anywhere
3)I don't have a credit card so buying it online is impossible

I fact I have buy the roiginal SNES cartridge for 40$ can and believe it or not the guy had over 1000 of games and it was not in the section on the table with all the game habving they original box, nor in the boxes on the floor with the game without orignal box but further away, where they was so kind of rug lying on the side, but I admit I wouldn't have take it if not for the ROM I found

I've got the SNES & PSX versions...and I still endorse getting a ROM if you can...

So, eternal_magus, are you sure you did everything and saved afterward? What's your last save called, before you fight Lavos?

The fated hour...

Something strange happened....In one of my other CT game folder (I played multiple times and copy the ROM to have different savestates since I rip graphics...

In my game where the furthest I got is the Quest: Tata and the hero medal (I think that's what it's called), I can get New Game +!

I have no idea why.....but my only savegame is Level 16 characters because I'm so early in the game.

Thats weird... but i have the ROM and got New Game+ after beating it for the first time and doing all the quests.

Hehe.....playing New Game + with my Level 15 characters....I went to the first Lavos Battle at Lucca's telepad by mistake and got PWNED

I did that too when I got the New Game+ but I wasn't lvl 15.  More like lvl 50 and i beat Lavos with just Marle and Crono.  It wasn't easy though.

I could do it easily with just Ayla and Crono. The double techs they have are really strong

Yeah and Ayla at lvl 99 is strong and Ayla and Crono are strong with their double techs are pretty strong.

Try soloing Lavos with Crono to do so go to telepad right when Lucca ask you to try the telepad, this is the only time Marle is not in your party and that's what I cal hard try it lvl 50
