Yes, it does. Besides, Guardia dosen't have a huge importance in the long run. If Lavos was gonna destroy the world, what differnce does a fallen kingdom or two make? It sure didn't help them in the Porre Invasion.

Well, the Entity needs heroes. It got 'em w/Crono, Marle, Lucca, and Glenn right there by helping to save Guardia.

Guardia was kind of involved, because (if the Theory that Porre is just a part of Guardia is true) they made Porre, and Porre found El Nido, therefore furthering the story. Though they did woop Guardia's rear in the long run...And Guardia harboured Crono, Lucca and Marle, three very important character (especially the first and second).

I was just wandering about something: U know how we belive that the Entity first interfered at Guardia Woods. That means that the whole 600 AD event must have still happened in the Lavos Timeline. And when it got to the point of Crono's departure to 2300 AD, the Gate never appeared, Crono was caught (Lucca too prob.) and killed. Easy and simple way to say that Crono died in the Lavos Timeline.

The Lavos timeline assumes Crono never even met Marle. Even if he did, maybe the Gate never opened?

The only way that's possible, is if the Telepod wasn't powered up enough, Lucca and Taban assumes it's another failure, and close up shop.

Yours is actually a more sensible idea. Because mine is based on the fact that the 600 AD events (the first ones) still actually happen.

It doesn't make sense for the gates to exist in the original timeline because the Entity wouldn't need them...

yes, but lets remember that the Lenne Square Gate was COINCIDENTAL, the others never appeared at all. So when Crono got to Guardia Woods: NO GATE!!! He then gets caught and killed by Guardia troops.

Crono either overslept the fair, at which point Marle would be caught and escorted back to the Castle, either Crono and Marle never found the Pendent, decided to have a good time although the loss of the precious pendent, and Crono never 'abducts' anyone. Who knows, maybe Crono and Marle are even allowed to remain friends.
