Kaper says he takes everything in CT literally.  I do not think one should take everything literal.  Magus said he was not the same person as Janus.  Of course he means that his mindset is different, and he is essentially a different person.  But did one day Janus actually ceise to exist, and Magus just come to be?  Or did Janus grow up into Magus?  Janus are Magus are the same entity, the same person.  This is an example of why not to take everything in the game literally.

I take things literally, but try to reason out it.
He may have said that he was a different person, and it is true. He has changed from that weird boy. Magus has red eyes, a dark aura, mind set on vengance, desire to be reunited with his sister. He has changed. He's older now too... His powers are tapped into... He is not the same person in a sence. He's the same entity, but not what he used to be.

Okay, so you agree he is the same person.  All that stuff doesn't change the fact that Magus is the same person as Janus.  So don't take everything literal.

im not entirely sure of the point of your post translaka, sentenal your still not understanding what were saying, so i doubt zaper will change his view of taking everything literally.

1- okay it says entity, but it also says personality which is what i was saying
2- his body is diferent, eyes diferent, ears diferent, skin colour diferent, hell hes older and bigger.
3- again yes that is true for magus.

Thanks to V_T, he just proved my point.

person n. 1. Any human being considered as a distinct entity or personality; an individual.

Magus is so hard to distinct from Janus in a way. The first time I saw Magus and Janus, I was like WTF. I guessed that Magus was the profit, but not Janus, even if the name pointed it out, and same with Crono and co, they didn't know till he told them.

So Magus is literally saying it, and it is his point of view on the matter, it can't be changed.

I was just trying to give some clarification unto the thread...The way I see it, you're both kind of right based on those definitions. But I still don't think that you can take everything as being literal because not everything is...That's just not how the world (of writing) works...Some things are hinted at, but not told outright; some things are figurative.

Magus and Janus are the same entity, he disproved you.  Not to mention that Definition 1 is more important than the obsure ones you may point to.

Janus and Magus can't be the same person.  Let me explain.

Schala = Kino.  Since Schala and Janus were siblings, this means they must have been sent to the same time period.  Magus came from 600 AD, so he can't be Janus, since Janus was sent with Schala/Kino to 65 million BC.

So what hapenned to Janus?  Simple.  He's Ayla.  And you may be asking, "Well Ayla's a girl, how can this be?"  Simple.  Ayla is obviously more manly than her husband, Kino, who is actually quite girly.  Which makes perfect sense, because Schala IS kino!

So, explain to me, if Janus is really Ayla, how Janus could possibly be Magus?
