I was pretty sure in the Lavos Timeline, Lavos just killed him or even took his DNA (because Magus is so much different to every1 else, Lavos needs something more; and because of Magus' magical knowledge)

Who knows, maybe the party and Magus did get sent to the End of Time and Gaspar was the one who threw them into the corresponding Gates while they were unconscious.

Lordchander, it's not specifically stated WHAT happens to the Magus in the original timeline. Just that he's defeated somehow and Guardia wins because of it.

This comes back to the fact the Gaspar is indeed a form of mortal entity, seeing as he's all seeing. But why would Square not show us that?

Most assume that Magus was killed by Lavos in the Original Timeline.  When Crono and Co. interferred, they messed up the summoning so that they were all chucked into the Gates instead.

Yeah cause in the game he does get mad at you for interupting his summoning of Lavos.

Oh, I just had an idea!

Maybe the Planet used the "Queen is gone" quest as a way to test Crono for the coming trials. I mean, he teams up with heroes from different times, travels through time to fix the past\present\future, and vanquishes evil.

Crono completes the test perfectly, and is thus entrusted (Without his knowledge, as irony has it) with the future of the planet.

I thought that, in the original timeline, Frog somehow pulls himself together (maybe he meets the running away Tata and reacts) and kills Magus (with an unbroken/mended Masamune?).

No in the original timeline Frog rescued the Queen but felt he let her down since she was even kidnapped in the first place. He ran away hide and possibly died here in his shame. Whle Magus summoned Lavos and died.

oops I though that it meant he died while still being ashamed of himself, didn't know it only worked in french "mourrir dans la honte"

No, DarkGizmo, I think what you said makes sense. Frog died in shame, but of old age (or choking on a bone or w/e, who knows these pesky details?).

Most likely in the Original Timeline Magus was killed by Lavos by completing the summon spell. When Crono and the rest interfered Magus loses focus on the summon spell. Remember how it says Magus risks casting a spell when he prepares for Dark Matter? It is because of the summon spell he was in the process of casting when they showed up. The huge energy flux was most likely made by Lavos's nearby prescence and the incompleted summon spell.

I know this may sound strange, but ppl say that that 'Gate' was formed due to Magus' and Lavos' energy, but if it was them 2 in the Lavos Timeline, the Gate would have still formed, so this is my theory: It was also the heroes energy along with Magus' and Lavos' that created the 'Gate'. Whaddaya all think?
