An interesting art survey: http://hq.deviantart.com/journal/Good-Nudes-vs-Bad-Nudes-266637729

When is nudity "Art" and when is it not?

Thoughts?

I love this girl. I swear, I'm gonna get some of these printed just so I can gawk at her works everywhere or try traditionally mimicking her techniques. I'd like to live in the fantasy that she paints! The way she blends the excess water on the blankness of the canvas, the way that negativity turns into light, the way her stroke complements succinct details and the myriad saturation of colors, her precision at the contours and the minimal blending, the balance of lavish aesthetic decor with pastoral essence... God, it's so soothing to my soul...

Also, special mention goes to this guy trying to make contact with his soul:

Give me one good reason why the skies can't be mine. Let's see if you can't be moved by the strings I play.

I'm using Ubuntu. Anybody know how to split CT sprites into individual images besides the tedious copy/paste?

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it.

I got a mail, saying they liked my portfolio and informing me to sign up to Filter Foundry: http://www.filterfoundry.com/

Says it can give me a nose-dive on portfolio and publications in Art magazines.

Whadya think? Worth it?

This guy, a brilliant traditional oil-painter, deserves some recognition...

Art is a beautiful thing, particularly traditional painting / sculpting. A lot of people have had their curiosities lead them to wherever I'm sitting just so they can watch me paint/sketch. This reminds how a lot of people are intrigued with "HOW DOES HE DO THAT" and see the ingenuity of brush techniques giving form to imagination on paper -- the seemingly "depth" of perception is usually just a stroke of translucent dark over a chosen color.

So to satisfy the curiosity of some folks, I reward you with the French artist Kmye Chan PAINTING THE SHIT OUT OF RAPUNZEL! And it's awesome!

And a two-part coloring of Mademoiselle Colombe HERE and HERE. Oh, the contours! How fun it'll be to write 20 posts about the study of contours and engraving caused by light sources (not really)!

Like it? Cool. Now hand me your wallets. This is a stick up.

I came upon this awesome pixel animation that tells the story of Van Gogh and other brilliant artists who starve when living, but have their stuff sold for millions after their deaths. I found this amusing because it's quite ironic and true. I wonder what others think about this.

Not only do I sympathize with these artists, but I'm also sad by the fact that I am one of those artists. Don't get me wrong, though, because I'm quite confident that my art isn't even worth $50 tossed at me, though I strive to be better in execution once I master conceptual consonance. But even then art seems to lack value to most people unless it's a Kitsch.

Oh, and I'm in love with this one!

Well you know what? I drew this! I wanted to draw a cute girl with crazy swirly whiteish hair and a poofy pink dress with fur trim, using ALL THE COLORS. The berries just kind of happened but they're my favorite parts. What do you all think?

That is splendid! I'm not much for berry hats and poofy swirly things, but that is high-quality artwork. If you ever have any problems getting into the console/traditional games industry, I'd be willing to bet some studio would snatch your talent right up in the mobile games industry.
