Doppelgangers in the Black Omen
« on: July 06, 2005, 02:06:17 pm »
in chrono trigger
in the black omen just before you fight queen zeal, there are these tubes with all the characters in them. why are they there. Nothing in the game seems to explain this.

could it have to do with lavos collecting powerfull DNA?
or is queen Zeal studying the ones that could destroy her plans?
or another theory?

anyone?

Maybe Lavos was planning on making clones to defeat Crono and co. by making clones of them, but we arrive early and the clones aren't finished yet.

Well there is absolutly nothing to thsi regard it could be just holograms, note that Magus isn't there.

all we can do is speculation

All I can think of is those were made to study Crono's gang but it makeno sense sinc eMagus is like the stronger and he isn't there

but note that he could be dead on this aprt so it could be blame on game "laziness" design

It might have been apart of the game to have you fight your clones, but due to time they just put them in their to make you wonder.

The studing theory is good, but the problam is the clones won't act like them.

In fact, I think they might be gathering data about Crono and friends. I mean, I always thought the Black Omen was like "Lavos' Doomsday HQ", so why not gather info about those jerks that tried to defeat him during the OP disaster?

I didn't mean they check how the clones react jsut studing their physical aspect for weakness

for the magus that can't do a double tech it's because he's anti-social, he can do all the lvl 2 magical attacks (water thunder fire) plus he's a shadow innate

Well like I said clones don't mean you'll get the real thing.

What makes Crono and co. powerful is what they went through which is something you won't get for clones.  However, you could still get info on them through the clones, but really nothing you really didn't know before the cloning porcess.

No, you can't get info on them. Magical attacks, habits, personalities: Their all aquired after birth and are completly part of the mind.

Yes, well, if they can't get that info, why try?

don't forget that the black omen is there from 12,000,000,000 BC to 1999 AD (even more but it's closed) so she had time to atleash try something, maybe jsut set a room for psycological domination or something, when I passed the first tiem I was like "look straigh ahead do not look at them..."

Well they could be their to unnerve Crono and co. or they were to fight their clones but you got their before the clones were finished(Game makers didn't have enough time to put it in).

Thats my theory on it.

Well the fact that they had their sprite ready and damage and all make that out of the question no?
