Seems like they're just holograms...I mean, it'd make sense that they'd study the group...But, wait! This is six pages now! I bet I've and other people've already said this...

It was clearly thrown in by the creators as a joke to make people waste their time with discussions like these.

This also would explain Marle's disappearance.

They're most likely projections of intruders.

That's an awfully dismissive interpretation of some very heavy imagery. How do you figure?

If they were clones, they'd be bobing about like how Crono and Co were when they were in the same sort of tube in the Mammon Machine room.

Maybe Lavos was planning on making clones to defeat Crono and co. by making clones of them, but we arrive early and the clones aren't finished yet.

possibly, but i do not believe that Lavos knew about some certain clan trying to defeat him. Lavos was super intelligent many say but it faced and destroyed all who opposed him, and probably knew or thought that he was not going to be easily opposed. On the other matter, Chronos crew was a magic crew, and lavos who had probably been studying the earth in his burrow for millions of years, knew that when he was to erupt he would be facing tanks etc. so thats what he was probably adapted to fight, he probably had no idea that he would be facing magic.

As for the tubes, im guessing maybe compiling more power to offer to lavos maybe, or just a study. I do not know

Yeah, but whether you believe it to be inadvertant or not, Lavos was the cause of the human's magical ability.

Well magic originated from the zealians, and they exploited lavos' power, but when did zeal originate, im guessing before the crash of lavos.

No, the ability to focus elemental energies came from Lavos.

Purposefully or not, who knows?

... Lavos crashed in 65,000,000BC... Back then we had 'Apes' and 'Old Humans'. They only survived because The Reptites were wiped out when Lavos landed on them.... By the year 3,000,000BC, humans came in contact with the Frozen Flame that evolved them faster than that should have happened.

By 12,000BC, Zeal was raised and magic was adapted. Weak minded individuals who didn't have magic purely in their blood adapted it from Lavos. Only a few individuals could use magic without draining it on Lavos' energy : Zeal, Schala, Magus, Guru's etc. And I believe that that magic was surely shadow magic. Like if you split it up, you get the other 3.

Perhaps the Black Omen is Norstein Bekkler's warehouse.

HAHAHAHAHA! XD Perfect, I like it! (Of course I know you're joking. And it's not a bad joke, either!)

Y'know something? We never see anyone ELSE but Crono & Co trying to fight off Lavos in 1999AD. We don't see any side scenes of military taking action or anything.

Given this information, perhaps, by 1999AD, world peace had already been established, and the world had done away with military organizations and equipment?

Or perhaps, people were simply too distracted to actually notice that "the demon turtle king of Hades" (a joking reference to Lavos) had arisen?

I mean, after erupting from the surface of the planet, Lavos pauses just long enough before his bombing to be attacked by other forces.

...

Yeah, getting back in topic, those projections were either clones or holograms.

And they could've been constructed to fight back Crono & Co, or they could've been created simply for study.

My money's on clones though, since Lavos takes DNA from the Earth, he wouldn't need to make clones to study the original thing.

Silly rabbit! This an adventure story. Police cars and military tanks only exist to get blown up. Their doomsday weapons and myriad legions are no match for the vim and vinegar of seven humble heroes.

My point is, we don't even see any military tanks.

We don't see any other resistance to Lavos, other than Crono & Co.

If it hadn't been for Crono & Co, the world would have just been obliterated and stayed that way.

Maybe because Lavos erupted so quickly and took the whole world out in one go....

Of course we wouldn't see any. Crono and crew got there immediately after Lavos' awakening. It would take atleast fifteen minutes for the tanks to be prepared, and if you put everything on the world map to scale, those tanks have a long ass way to go. By the time they do get there, you're probably inside fighting Lavos' Core already.

Two things

1. In future, is there still a death peak, or something in a way, I mean look at Lavos! He still rose from the depths! Is there maybe a big giant hole where he showed up?

2. If you don't revive Chrono, does he still appear in the tubes?
