I don't think they are you're right. ALL of Schala's family and ONLY Schala's family have blue hair (correct me if I'm wrong). Also only a few Enlightened ones survived the destruction of Zeal and we know that none of them were descendants of Schala since they all died....unless:

They have blue hair because they dye it.  It's to show superiority to the Earthbound people.  Actually all of the people in Zeal have dyed hair, if my memory serves me correctly.  

And not all of them died.  Some survived the fall and inter-bred with Earthbound peoples.  Since dyed hair isn't a gene, their natural hair gene passed on to child.  This is why NO ONE in future generations had blue hair.

It's obvious to see that he's talking to himself. All the Guru's loved Janus and Schala. They at one point loved the Queen (as friends and family), but Schala and Janus were the ones who they pretty much had to protect and teach, i'm guessing.

EDIT: Also how strange that the Earthbound only have brown hair yet in the future there are people (Lucca) with pink hair and (Marle and Fiona) with blond hair....

But Schala's family is Janus and Queen Zeal, it isn't stated anywhere that she had aunts and uncles or cousins.  Although that would be pretty cool.

No, Enlightened and Earthbound came from the same family.  They look the same and can't be distinguished externally.  This is why they dyed their hair, because they had hair the same color as the earthbound people.

1. What about Serge's hair colour?
2. I'm pretty sure that Hair Colour theory is just a myth spread on one of these fourms, then people think they read it in the game.
3. If they did die their hair, it'd have to be with Magic. The reason why Schala would only lose the colour is if Magic was what was keeping it that way, and since she was drained of power by Lavos, she lost it.

Also maybe some had blue hair and they wanted blue hair as well.

Serge's hair wasn't the truest shade, his was more darker, while Zealots had shinier turquiose-like blue.  Oh no I'm pretty sure that it was stated in-game that they had to dye their hair.  Also, maybe magic maybe not.  Hair-Dye can fade away, or in Schala's case, be drained.

It was never said that Lucca died her hair purple... We see her at Opassa beach as a child, and she still had that hair colour.

Do remember, Akira Toriyama did design how the chracters look. And he sure is famous for people being born with weird hair colours ( Bulma Teal and Vegeta Brown/Black = Trunks Purple)

True, I know that Anime hair colors are totally spontaneous, (Chibi-Moon=Pink) but that would contradict this whole argument.
