Maybe this can help:
http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Chrono_Compendium:About.html

Check "II. Organizational Structure"

Then check "c. Rank"

Hope it helps, and welcome!

Yeah, posts increase the rank. It's not a contest or anything, so don't feel like you have to post to rank up (there are other ways to do that if you really want a change in rank). It really depends on how active you are.

The special rank only stays when you have exactly that post number. So don't forget to take a snapshot.  :P

Participating in the Creative Contests is one way to get a new rank. You have to be the winner in order to get those. Contributing to the site, either through creativity, analysis, or community leadership, can also give you a rank of Guru if the higher ups recognize your contributions. (All of this can be found in the link Angerona provided, btw.)

There is also the Springtime of Youth rank, though I'm not sure ZeaLitY gives that out anymore.

death, ranks don't really matter around here.

If you are trying to get a certain post count, my advice is not to try. Just post and participate in conversation. Oftentimes people who try to aim for a specific post count can get really spammy and tend to double/triple post quite a bit (double posting is bad).

Just stick around for a long time and you'll have a lofty post count! :)

Enjoy!

thanks for the advice but the problem is that not a lot of people get on that much and i could see that double and triple post can get really annoying
