When Zealiens sleep...
« on: July 08, 2005, 12:37:55 am »
I was thinking, Zeal is called "The Place where Dreams come to life" (or something similar), and everyone has magical powers and live in complete luxury. They have technology that's improving rapidly and they can do pretty much anything they want to...

So what's their obsession with sleep? There is an NPC you talk to in one of the cities in Zeal who says something about how good sleep is. And there are beds in the main rooms, with people sleeping in what appears to be the Zealien day. I don't know if this is just because Zealiens have work shifts or something but I was wondering if something else happens when they sleep. Maybe the Mammon Machine recharged their energy when they were sleeping or something. Maybe when Zealiens sleep they go into another world, where they are a different person <=== Fangame idea (Don't do it!), maybe it's just normal sleep.

I was just wondering because they seem to like sleep a lot.

I think that they spleep like everyone else here.

They just have nothing to do, Kajar do all for them so they jsut stay there and sleep, they know Queen Zeal wouldn't do something stupid anyway

Maybe for research, Zeal is big on study.  They're probably studying sleep.  Maybe it has something to do with magic?

Umm, It's clear that in that city (forgot the name), it's refered to as the City of Dreams. The Zealians have pretty much nothing to do so they dream their days away, under the rule of Queen Zeal. Like Doreen said, you can imagine everything. Like how shes a butterfly, and then a plate of sashimi etc.

Also, one of the Polyzo dolls talks about destiny and fate too.

It was Doreen who says that? I know she must look like Masa and Mune and I know it's a character like this but I though Doreen didn,t exist in CT or atleash not mentionned

Yeah Doreen is pretty real in Zeal (wasn't supposed to rhyme).

If I may quote myself from another thread...

Quote from: TheMostPowerfulAndAllKnowingBeingInAllTheUniverse
I always saw it as the Queen's way of numbing the people, by putting them to sleep...and the Mammon Machine's trance-inducing qualities...Kind of a way for the Queen to do things unnoticed or something w/o the people really caring. I mean, how else could such an advanced culture condone banishing people to the cold earth below just because they don't share in their magical 'enlightenment'?

Yeah, Enhassa is called the City of Dreams.  When you run into Masa and Mune at Zeal Palace, they say something about Doreen being at Enhassa again "because she likes to dream."

Yeah, I agree with Translanka.  I always thought the Queen had a huge spell over all of Zeal; they all just seem so oblivious and carefree and childlike and brainwashed.  Only those close to the Queen like Schala, Janus, the Gurus, and Dalton seem to be free of this.

More like this biggest propoganda ever. If you put someone in a place so perfect, he's bound to be carefree. No poverty, no diseases, homes for everyone, not to mention they're completly far away from the Ice Age below. They've got everything they could wish for, so they just kicked back and enjoyed the ride.

Lol, Queen Zeal would then have a very low rank. I doubt she's ever slept since her husband died or since she tried harnessing the power of Lavos Oo. Think about all the nightmares.

You really think a... ~tries not saying the B word~... Woman like her actually cares enough to lose sleep over a dead husband or two?

The game states that the loss of her husband was the reason she began to care about Lavos and the Mammon Machine... She might have began to fear death, so the MM was a pretty interesting hope for her.
