Wasn't the Mammon Machine a fountain of Eternal youth that never succeeded.

Not quiet. It was more like a machine that streches your life-span that blew up in her face.

The Energy it produced waas massive (or mammon-like) and could be used for just about anything, from household cleaning machines, to powering the queen's throne type of things.

True. Kind of like Mako Energy.

You're right in saying Janus rememeberd a loving mother, but still, that dosen't mean she turned evil straight after the king died. Maybe a bit earlier, and then she organized his death to get complete power over the earth.

I never said she turned evil overnight. I was defending her, saying it probably wasn't true that she became a bitch overnight and that Janus does recall a loving mother.

I think she was corrupted by Lavos' Flame. Not overnight, no, but in a rather quick manner. Quick in terms of a kingdom that sleeps it's days away.

On the note of sleeping, I wrote a scene in my fic where Magus reunites with Gasper, and names him "Master Belthasar". His response?

Quote from: Gasper in my fanfic
"Oh, it has been long since I heard that title along with my name... Indeed, the years passed swiftly in those days... Dreams and slumber were my main occupation, after research. Perhaps, our slumber clouded our eyes to the Queen's plot, and by the time we had tried to do anything, it was far too late..."

The gurus were against the use of the mammon machine (well Melchior told the queen that it was bad and she call him fool, maybe the other were just worried)

At first, they didn't quiet realized. At some point they made plans. But in this story, the Prophet has them imprisoned. Either way, the result is the same.

U could probably say that the M. Machine did two things:

1. Power the Kingdom (in a sense; kind of like the entire source of energy for the whole place!)
2. Used to get near Lavos (obviously)

Did I say 2, i meant 3:

3. Used for the source of their magic powers (well not source; transporting the source power threw the m. machine)

I don't believe that the source of their power was the mammon machine, essentially. Simply the Enlightened ones got the magic around or prior to 12,000 BC through the fake evolution, in other words "Mutation" from the Frozen Flame, and gained Magic. If the Flame or Mammon Machine is destroyed, there powers still exist >.>

but has time goes by their power diminish, the Mammon Machine played a big role in their Magic power, but it's the Frozen Flame that started it all

the mammon machine only really was just a machine that would house the FF and 'transport its power' to the citizens. I also think that Queen Zeal must have access to deeper parts of the FF, where more magic lies (the core of it)

No, I just think Queen Zeal had so much "control" over the Flame she just commanded it to give less power to the Zealians, and more power for her and her kin...

Talking about sleep... don't Masa and Mune spend sleeping all the time while the Masamune gets tainted with evil? They were Zealians, as well.

Not ordinary Zealians, if they were even Zealians. I don't know what they are but they lived over 13,020 years, which only Zeal had done that but with the help of Lavos.

That's a different kind of sleep. Masa and Mune aren't Zealians, they're the incarnations of Melchior's dreams and desries. Masa is his power, Mune's his wisdom and Doreen's his dreams. They've slept because they are good in nature, just like their creator, Melchior, and probably tried to struggle the evil. But at some point the evil overcame them, and they went into "sleep", the sword's evil keeping them at bay.

I always thought they slept because thier task was competed. They were bonded to the Masamune so that Lavos would be destroyed. Remember, the red knife's sole purpose was to destroy the Mammon Machine, which was connected to Lavos. When the Masamune was made the two still had thier purpose of destroying Lavos. When the group did so, Frog either laid the Masamune to rest, or kept it with him until his death, where it would have been either laid next to his grave or sealed away. This is when Masa and Mune would have slept, knowing thier task was completed they slept deeply, not noticing the corruption taking place.
