New Chrono Crisis Screens!
« on: July 08, 2005, 05:38:48 pm »
Chains of Fate's been working day and night on Chrono Crisis, his RPGMakerXP sequel to the Chrono series, and he's got some new material to show. The next demo, currently in development, will be a quantum leap over the last, and will begin in 1999 A.D. with the new characters coming in to this story (rather than having it begin with Crono and team). This gives us a good look into the future world he's creating; screenshots have been released exclusively for the Compendium. Also, the character sketches originally made for the project have been colored. Here are the images:

New Logo

Arris Academy Infirmary - Arris Academy Classroom - Arris Academy Bookstore - Arris Academy Toystore

Arlecia - Celia - Lutania - Xavier

Additionally, big news -- Reuben Kee has updated his entry for Chrono Symphonic, To Far Away Times. The new version is breathtaking; grab it here.

I love the Chrono Crisis logo.  It looks so awesome.

Also, I had always liked the character sketches, and with color they're very professional.  Well done.

As for Reuben Kee's updated piece...I have nothing to say other than it totally shatters my apprehensions about adding to the song.  It exceeds even my best expectations.  Listen to it now.

I agree with CS, the logo DID rock. Chrono Crisis is shaping up to be incredible, he knows how to use RMXP, and he knows how to use it well. The sketches, too, were well done.

As for Chrono Symphonic... The only problem I had with the original version they made of TFT, was that there were too little insturments. But the updated version adds a brand new dimension of emotion; It made me feel like the first time I saw the Epoch flying across the sky in the ending. It's really a beautiful and breathtaking remake, which brings justice to the composer and the game. It really goes with the epic feel of the game and the ending. An incredible remake of the song.

Wow, I can't believe how excited I am for Chrono Crisis. It just looks awesome. Those sketches now have the kind of dream/fantasy painted quality I normally associate with Yoshitaka Amano. Very well done.

BIG UPS!

I cannot wait for the next demo for Chrono Crisis! And for the full game for that matter! Go Chains of Fate! I wish he could give me a lesson on using the scripting in RMXP...

Truly amazing work. I can not wait for this to be completed. Everything looks great, nothing to complain about. I would listen to the new song, but I want to wait until the whole symphonic is completed. I'm wierd like that.

Just like to point out that Chrono Crisis was spelled incorrectly in Japanese there. It should really be:

クロノ・クライシス

Just a heads-up.

This looks very intresting indeed. The one thing I like the most about it is the SNES-style graphics. For some reason, no matter how advanced graphics get I'll always like that style.

I can't wait for the full version.

I think the thing about 16-bit graphics is, they give you enough "appearance" detail so you get a basic idea of what the character looks like, but it still leaves a ton of interpretation on your own part at the same time.  Unlike today, where in say, FFX, you know EXACTLY what Tidus looks like, and there's no variance of it.

I dunno if that's entirely true with newer games because there's still a lot of stylistic liscence taken even today...even when the characters look very realistic.

Aye, I think Chrono Crisis is looking damn good myself. What will I need in order to play it when the final product is released?

The new Chrono Crisis art looks great! Also reubenkee's remix of TFT is a masterpeice. The singer also does an excellant job.
