Say, "Blackbird"? Your avatar seems similar to the art-style by Shilin / Ashen Ray. Are you a fan of her manga Carciphona (formerly, "Blackbird")?

Volume 1 anyway, but that was when she was still drawing her second volume and before she changed the book name.  :P

I'm so glad we've got another Carciphona fan. Heavens know how much I admire her art! (Speaking of which, she's completed Volume 2!)

   woow, i dont know there is also Carciphona fans here hohohooho, yea volume 2 is complete, I hope I have enough money to buy that book TAT

   I really love this "duel" illustration, this is so far my favourite!!  :D, (I dont know why, for me black bird somehow is quite similar with Kidd, in terms of their attitude maybe haha XD)

I would say color the robe purple, but since the magic thingy around her hand is already purple, it might be redundant. But the image looks good so far. Really good. Keep at it.

I'd say that you should blend the magic with some light blue to make it more of a bright, violet color than it is currently, and then make her robes purple, slightly pinkish perhaps, like a darker mauve color. Your picture's colors will still be discernible, and they'll be closer to the usual colors than with having her robes black.
