I don't argue the fact that civil wars exist nor do I argue the fact that when the Guardia/Mystic War began to occur that they would indeed prepare...My arguement lies with whether or not we have any proof that the war was occurring when Janus first arrived.

I always thought that the Mystic were against humans anyway, and like as if Magus was their Messiah.

Precisly. I think they were gathering forces by the time Janus arrived. As he grew, he became their leader, defined his ranks (i.e: Ozzie his advisor and commander, Flea and Slash generals, and whatnot).

Well, i don't know greek declination, so i can't say ^_^ it's just that i have always seen "basileus" in latin texts... and i have seen basileos written sometimes, in greek transliterations. So well, we both claim ignorance lol ^_^
About Dominus, i am sure, though :D Domino would be the ablative and dative case, while the nominative would be Dominus ^_^.

You think? Ozzie found a "filthy urchin", the urchin kicked his ass, the urchin shape-shifted, the urchin became the lord of the mystics with a moron who's in a pickle and a jam, a sir Slush and a cross-dresser magician. Sad, but that is the story of the Mystic reign.

Can someone be that good with magic without practice?

I don't think Janus won, but he msut have put a good fight and Ozzie was like "Well good fight urchin, but how do you know magic?" they he bring him home and they say his immense power and trained him.

Well, you obviously know far more than I do. What are you, a classicist or linguist or something? Oh, wait, you mentioned Physics on that other post? So why do you know Latin? (Just asking, because it sounds like me: in Engineering, but may well be taking ancient Greek next semester.)

In Zeal, it was said that his power surpased even Schala's and Zeals and that he was just using them.

Magic doesn't need to be practised, that hard, only if your magic power is crap.

Janus may have never used it, but because it was so powerful, he should have been able to easily summon a bolt of lightening on Ozzy or whatever.

Maybe you,re right, maybe he had magical power but they weren't trained enough something like Spekkio giving magic to the team but Janus had some but not his full power because he could have just killed Ozzie there, because I don't think he wuld already though he could use them.

Firstly, did the Mystics actually have magic beforehand? If they didnt, there could be an explanation for the Demon God thing. It could have simply been a fake God Janus/Magus (in fact, im gonna call him Janus from now on) made just to give power to the Mystics, it wasn't even real. But then there is the fallen angel crap in RD which may have some super-natural and religious connections to the Demon God so maybe not...

I'm pretty sure the Mystic had magic before Magus. A woman in a village north of Porree, South of Zenan Bridge says that "Magus' arcane magic surpases even that of monsters". So i'm guessing Magus' power is stronger than the monsters AKA Mystics.

Furthermore, the fact they are called mystics hints that they are naturally magic users.

Daniel, in Spain, in highschool, everybody had to study Latin in 2nd year... not anymore, sadly. And that year of latin made me get a liking for linguistics, evolution of languages and stuff ^_^ (specially because i am native in two languages that come from latin, so i always was drawing comparisons).

Meh, I don't see that there's enough to form a basis stating that the Mystic/Guardia war was already in effect. I mean, obviously the Mystics were still on their old turf in that mountain near Truce. So that just makes me think that the war wasn't going on yet if nothing else tells me anything at all...

Plus, all of that Janus stuff is just speculation...For all we know Janus got fucked up and the Mystics captured him to make him dance for them at nighttime (or to eat him...w/e) and then magic happened...Or hell, maybe Janus just escaped Ozzie, and eventually found humans and later on, learned magic, decided he didn't care for humans and then joined the Mystics...

Heck, you'll find TONS of these meaningless theories on what Janus did and how he finally got his magic by reading any of the countless Magus fanfics (although my own hasn't gotten into that history of Magus yet...but it will in a chpt called Advanced History).

Also, about the Mystics...We don't know if they were ALWAYS called Mystics at all...Perhaps WHEN they learned to use magic they were dubbed Mystics...Who knows, yar?
