Yes, wasnt it supposed to be Heaven or something in the Pre-Release?

Uh...like I said "heavenly"...and no, not the prerelease, just the Japanese version itself. "Lightning" was a Woosleyism ().

And we all know Woosleyism is the Dark Side.

"Crono, I am your father!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOooooooo"
"Ha, fooled you, it's just me, Lucca."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

I don't mean to sound rude, but how does that have anything to do with the discussion\Anti-Woosleyism?

About the Heaven or Heavenly thing, w/e, if it was like that in the japanese version, why not in the US version? It serves no purpose to change it watsoever, unless they wanted to give it a more 'elemental feel'.

Back then, Nintendo guidelines were very strict about censorship. Sometimes, anything regarding religion was nixed.

Really? I never knew that. That never happens in Anime.

Anime wasn't really popular back then as it is today. Espically thanks to the fact almost anyone can get Anime, back then it was a lot harder to come by, so they cared less. Video games, on the other hand...

But Nintendo, nor any1 for that matter, have no censorship type things now do they? I mean as Zaper said, i had never known or heard of such a thing until i started at the forums.

In many games, there have been God's and Goddesses. Secret of Mana, Breathe of Fire revolved around Norse Gods and preached a bit, BoF II was more made up but still.

Well then why didnt they censor those then? Like come on, heavenly! God gees! What were they thinking! I suppose, in the end, Lightning still fits the bill, and is more 'elemental'.

Bah, they were trying to be non-denominational. Not everyone believes in God, some religions believe in Gods, and back then was a time when being politicly correct was everything. Now's a time when people are a lot more loose about it, and just think that rating does the trick.
