General Information

Chrono Trigger

Era: 12000 B.C.
Music: Battle with Magus, Corridors of Time, Ocean Tide
Items: 1 Amulet
Bosses: Magus

The North Cape is the northernmost shore of the remaining continent after the Fall of Zeal occurs, and provides a sweeping view of the frigid, blue sea. After Magus failed as the Prophet to save his sister and defeat Lavos, he retired to the North Cape to gaze at the ocean and contemplate the tragedy he had experienced for the second time. Frog and the party approached him there, and Magus explained the Ocean Palace Incident in the original history of the world, and how he had botched his attempt at correct those sorrowful events. He then made a disdainful comment about Crono, nearly leading to a scuffle; however, it was avoided, and Magus joined the party with a suggestion to visit Gaspar. Magus's soliloquy at the North Cape remains one of the most memorable scenes of Chrono Trigger, and a defining moment in Magus's life. To the treat of fans, his dialogue on the cape had an alternate opening not used in the game:

Magus: The lost Kingdom of Dreams.

   Sigh...
To have gained so much, and then
   have lost it again...
