Final Fantasy Chronicles Strategy: Use elemental attacks. Ignore his taunts or he'll counter with Water Wave. Heal and wait until he stands up again.

Heckran attacks twice with Water, then with Cyclone / Water. He then readies a counterattack, and if charged, uses Water Wave!!. Afterwards, he pauses from his counterattack poise, and is vulnerable.

Chrono Cross

Interestingly, the Heckran in Chrono Trigger appears to have an allegiance to the Mystics. However, in Radical Dreamers and Chrono Cross, the Heckran seems to be referenced as a mere wild beast. A Heckran Bone is a key item, and be used to attract Poshul.

Radical Dreamers

Kid imitates a Heckran to fool a Goblin troop.
