re faustwolf's request for that legend of dragoon boss track - maybe use the pizzicato strings from 600ad as the "orch hit?" or if necessary, the "millennial fair strings" (which is actually a mandolin).

BTW, to try this app out i also changed the instrument in the included radical dreamers mml from the harpsichord it was to said mandolin and i think it sounds closer to an actual acoustic guitar because of it :)

i'm loving this app, BTW. awesome. i'm glad source code is included, maybe someone'll give porting to mac a try... ;)

Thanks neo. I'll try that out whenever I get around to tinkering with SPCs.

Yeah, it seems there's a limit in the length of the music.
At first I thought it was the channel count, but it seems that's not the point...
When I tried "Dragon Rider" today, I found it's easy to hit this limit. This piece contains a lot of drum beats, if you don't use loops for them, the score will be rather long.

How should I release this? Should I integrate it with Vehek's? Should I post the tutorial somewhere in the Modification section?

I don't feel like I know enough to announce this and put it in the encyclopedia correctly right now. Just let me know what to put where.

Yeah, this tool is based on Vehek's tutorial to avoid the dependence on RS3 tool and RS3 rom.

Yup, I tested it and it's really easy to use. Congratulations utunnels :)

The hardest part is to find the correct instruments...

oh, if anyone's interested, look for the app vgmtrans (it used to be at vgmtrans.com, but that's gone). it's able to rip songs and instruments from ds games into midi sequence and DLS soundfonts respectively, and apply similar conversion to quite a few psf2s (the psfs on which i tried it failed tho: square psfs using the akao driver like ff7 & chrono cross). i'm using this to compile a gm compatible soundfont (both DLS and SF2 format) made pretty much entirely of square/enix samples (it's almost all final fantasy).

i gather those w/the right app (in my case, awave studio, ms directmusic producer, or extreme sample converter) can take the wave files from said ripped soundfonts and find some way to use the wav2brr app to ultimately import them into trigger.

Hey utunnels, looks like your app has gotten wiped out as an attachment, and I think it may be within the date range that makes it non-recoverable. Could you re-attach to your first post?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGdkw9EjOrM - Took a whack at importing just for testing purposes.  This is Star Ocean 2 - Incarnation of the Devil.  It's really REALLY buggy and screwed up the game, but it's kind of cool to hear it in CT form.  The instruments are wrong as well I believe, but I adore this program!

Hey, I think the version you put on megaupload isn't the latest version.

Also, I found that mml2spc can misinterpret a note as part of a hex-format number.

Hmm, so what is the exact problem?

I'm not sure how to explain it.
For example, it interpreted @0x20d+4 as some other number and complained about the "+" being an unrecognized command.

Hmm, it treats 0x20d as a hex number.

I'm so damn lost I don't even know where to begin.  Do I need to access teh HEX material of a ROM to do this?  I'm on Vista 64 bit.  Does that make it worse/not possible?  I think I'll leave it at that for now, and take another look at things.  Man, my head is hurtin' after my last struggle with this.
