oh, if anyone's interested, look for the app vgmtrans (it used to be at vgmtrans.com, but that's gone). it's able to rip songs and instruments from ds games into midi sequence and DLS soundfonts respectively, and apply similar conversion to quite a few psf2s (the psfs on which i tried it failed tho: square psfs using the akao driver like ff7 & chrono cross). i'm using this to compile a gm compatible soundfont (both DLS and SF2 format) made pretty much entirely of square/enix samples (it's almost all final fantasy).
i gather those w/the right app (in my case, awave studio, ms directmusic producer, or extreme sample converter) can take the wave files from said ripped soundfonts and find some way to use the wav2brr app to ultimately import them into trigger.
