I wonder if Boton was an inspiration? There's also the "spirit egg" which very much resembles the Time Egg....Very suspicious. It is definitely a possibility that she was the inspiration for Schala; a lot of game designers do this to pay homage to popular shows and stuff. They only appear twice in the whole series, though, and the resemblance is not as clear-cut as Botan's is with Schala.
