Naga-ette's Bromide
« on: February 28, 2006, 11:01:10 pm »
Okay.  This has ALWAYS bugged me.  When you go back to 600 AD for the first time to rescue Marle, you can nab the "Naga-ette's Bromide" from a drawer in the back of the cathedral.  I am aware that in the Japanese version it is apparently a piece of clothing and can be exchanged to a pervy old man in Dorino.  But what kind of clothing is it?  Does it really exist?

I consulted the Japanese version of the game only to meet defeat.  BUROMAIDO, they call it.  So that was about no help at all.  I googled it and found bromide the chemical substance, but I don't think that's what's being referred to.

A little help?  Thoughts?  Opinons?  What is a Bromide?!

Bromide is photo collection, as far as I know... No idea how "Bromide" came to mean that in Japan though.

"Bromide" refers to a technique for creating photographic prints on bromide paper.

Aha. Another mystery of my life solved. Thanks Lensman!

Well, to contribute to the topic: Looking at Naga-ettes, the only article of clothing they are wearing seem to be fortified bras. :? Maybe that's it?

It's an erotic photographic print.

In as much as a photograph of a gorgon can be said to be erotic.

Anyway, it does seem to be some kind of underwear, but I'm also highly enjoying the theory of erotic photography, haha.  Thanks guys. ^^
