Heckran Cave, located to the west of Medina, is a dwelling for wild Mystics that houses an underground river. The occupants of the cave have high defense capabilities, and can only be damaged through Magic. The regional population is led by a fearsome monster known as the Heckran, who still harbors grudge against Humans though the Mystic War ended hundreds of years ago. Besides the river and reflectively blue walls, the most interesting feature of the cave is the cratered whirlpool; this pool allows access to the deeper underground river system that terminates near Lucca's house. From there it is called the Vortex Pt, and forms an easy way of travel between Truce and Medina. Crono utilizes this path after defeating the Heckran.
