Playstation executable code. Deciphering this in any useful way requires an understanding of R3000A assembler (and/or a good debugger). One of the better information sources is a document entitled "Everything You Have Always Wanted to Know about the Playstation But Were Afraid to Ask," by Joshua Walker (be warned that it's kind of dense, though), of which there are copies scattered all over the Internet. (If you have a choice, get the .pdf formatted version rather than the text file—it's easier to read.)
